General Protection Fault Viewing Dial-Up Adapter Properties

SYMPTOMS

When you view the "TCP/IP-> Dial-Up Adapter Properties" twice without closing the first instance of the TCP/IP Properties Information dialog box, you may receive one of the following error messages:

RUNDLL32 caused an invalid page fault in module MSTCP.DLL.

RUNDLL32 caused a general protection fault in module USER.EXE.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, do not view two instances of this dialog box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
