HP OmniBook 600C Laptop Does Not Turn OffID: Q203782

When you try to shut down Windows 98 or press the power button to turn off your Hewlett Packard OmniBook 600C laptop, your laptop may not turn off. Your laptop may stop responding (hang) when you receive the following message:
It's now safe to turn off your computer.
This issue can occur if your computer is configured to use the Fast Shutdown feature.
To resolve this issue, disable the Fast Shutdown feature. To do so, follow these steps:

NOTE: When you disable the Fast Shutdown feature in Windows 98, you change the FastReboot value data from 1 to 0 in the following registry key:
