HyperTerminal 4.0 Personal Edition Does Not Work After Upgrading to Windows 98 Second EditionID: Q229208
  |
After you upgrade to Windows 98 Second Edition, HyperTerminal 4.0 Personal Edition does not function.
The files for HyperTerminal 4.0 Personal Edition are replaced by the standard-version HyperTerminal files that are included with Windows 98 Second Edition.
To resolve this issue, rename the following files and then reinstall HyperTerminal 4.0 Personal Edition:
File name Version Date
--------------------------------
Hticons.dll 4.0 9-17-98
Hypertrm.exe 4.0 9-17-98
Hypertrm.dll 3.0 9-17-98
For information about how to rename a file, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type renaming, and then double-click the "Renaming files" topic.
HyperAccess 8.2 (the full version of HyperTerminal) does not get overwritten.
