Left Mouse Setting Not Persistent in Mouse Tutorial (Wintutor.exe)

SYMPTOMS

When the mouse tutorial is run at the end-user site there is a question of which hand orientation the user is. By default, this setting is right. If the user selects left, it asks if you would like to make this setting lasting. If one answers yes to this question, this setting does not last through a shutdown and restart of the computer.

RESOLUTION

This is no longer a problem with Windows 98 Second Edition, as Wintutor.exe has been succeeded by OOBE.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
