After you configure a Dial-Up Networking connection to use extra settings, all subsequent connections you create for that modem may be automatically configured with the same extra settings.
This behavior occurs because Dial-Up Networking updates the Modem.cpl file when you create a connection with extra settings. When you create a new connection for the same modem, the extra settings are automatically applied to the new connection.
To work around this behavior, manually install another copy of the same
modem driver and configure the extra settings separately. To do so, follow
these steps:
