Notepad Font Formatting Is Not Visible in Other Text EditorsID: Q216380
|
When you view a text (.txt) file created in Notepad in another text editor such as WordPad, font formatting applied in Notepad may be missing. However, if you view this text file in Notepad, the formatting may still be present.
This issue occurs because documents created in Notepad are saved as text files that do not include all font formatting information. The font settings you can choose in Notepad are for display, and are only visible in Notepad.
To work around this issue, format your text in another text editor program such as WordPad.
The Notepad font information is saved in the following registry location:
HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Notepad\IfFaceName
