PCMCIA SCSI Controller Is Disabled After Suspend and ResumeID: Q196009
|
When you try to resume your computer from Standby or Suspend mode, your
Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) Small
Computer System Interface (SCSI) controller may stop responding. Also, if
you view this device in Device Manager, it may be listed as Disabled with
the following status:
The device cannot find any free Interrupt Request (IRQ) resources to
use (Code 12).
This problem can occur if your computer is resumed from Standby or Suspend mode multiple times without being restarted, and the Drvwppqt.vxd file is the Windows\System\Iosubsys folder.
To work around this problem, restart your computer, and then use either of
the following methods:
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 98.
The Drvwppqt.vxd file is installed if Microsoft Backup is installed, and
is used to communicate with parallel-port tape backup devices. Note that
if you uninstall Microsoft Backup, this file is not removed.
The Drvwppqt.vxd file may also be installed as a part of the Seagate Backup
software. In this case, renaming the file may interfere with proper
functioning of the Seagate Backup software, especially if you are using a
parallel-port tape backup device. If you are using Seagate Backup, please
contact Seagate for additional information about the Drvwppqt.vxd file.
