Playback Problems Using SoftDVD in Windows 98

SYMPTOMS

When you view a DVD movie using the SoftDVD program included with some computers, you may experience various playback problems.


RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.


  2. In the Named box, type softdvd.ini, and then click Find Now.


  3. In the list of found files, double-click the Softdvd.ini file.


  4. Type the following lines in the Softdvd.ini file:
    [dvdfs]
    AlignedAccess=0
    NOTE: Type a blank line above and below these two lines.


  5. On the File menu, click Save, and then click Exit on the File menu.


  6. Restart your computer.
