Problems Playing Sound in Alpha Centauri with SoundBlaster LiveID: Q233080
|
After you upgrade to Windows 98 Second Edition, there may be no sound, or sounds may be distorted, when you play Alpha Centauri by Firaxis Games.
This issue can occur if you have a Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live! sound card installed, and the Direct Sound 3D and EAX sound options are enabled in the Alpha Centauri initialization (.ini) file.
To resolve this issue, contact Creative Labs, or Firaxis Games, to inquire about the availability of a fix for this issue.
Firaxis Games recommends that you do not enable EAX or Direct Sound 3D in the Alpha Centauri program initialization file.
