Problems Restarting Laptop Computer in MS-DOS Mode

The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMS
When you try to restart your Windows 98-based Fujitsu or NEC Versa 6000
laptop computer in MS-DOS mode, your computer may shut down but not
restart.
CAUSE
Fujitsu
This issue can occur because of problems with the original mouse driver
(Gpoint.drv) that is included with some Fujitsu laptop computers.
NEC Versa 6000
This issue can occur because of problems with the NEC mouse driver version
9.10.005 (released 8/7/96) from the Versa 6000 Hotload version 2.00.02.
RESOLUTION
Fujitsu
To resolve this issue, obtain and install the most current version of the
Gpoint.drv file. For information about how to do so, contact Fujitsu.
NEC Versa 6000
To resolve this issue, obtain and install mouse driver version 9.10.008
or later for the Versa 6000 computer from NEC.
