SYMPTOMS
If you are using a Novell NetWare network and you install the Microsoft
IPX/SPX-compatible protocol in Network properties, you may experience any
of the following symptoms:
- You may lose connectivity to your NetWare network resources.
- You may receive the following error message:
Invalid VxD dynamic link call from VREDIR(01) + 00006F4A to device
'0487', service 4. Your Windows configuration is invalid. Run the
Windows Setup program again to correct this problem.
CAUSE
Installing the Microsoft IPX/SPX-compatible protocol over the Novell
32-bit IPX protocol changes the StaticVxD setting in the registry from
Nwlink2.vxd (the Novell setting) to Nwlink.vxd.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use either of the following methods:
Method 1
Reinstall the Novell Client32 software.
Method 2
WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems
that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of
Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

And Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and
