When you remove the Client for Microsoft Networks, the Banyan VINES Ethernet Protocol is also removed. If you then try to reinstall this protocol, you may be unable to do so, and you may be prompted to install a client instead.
This issue can occur because the Banyan VINES Ethernet Protocol does not work correctly unless the Microsoft Client for Microsoft Networks is installed.
