Setup Attempts to Install on Second Hard DiskID: Q202425
|
When you perform a "clean" installation of Windows 98, Setup may attempt to install Windows on the second hard disk.
This behavior can occur if you connect a second hard disk that has Windows 98 installed to your computer.
To work around this problem, select the proper drive and during Windows 98 Setup.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
Setup may also obtain the hardware settings from a Windows 98 installation on the second hard disk.
A "clean" installation of Windows means either installing Windows on a
blank hard disk, or installing Windows in a folder other than the folder in
which an existing version of Windows is installed.
