TSR Warning Booting WIN95 When McAfee BrightWorks InstalledID: Q134479
|
When you start Windows on a computer that has McAfee BrightWorks version 2.00 installed, you may receive a message that states that Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) programs are not supported in the Windows NetWare logon script processor.
TSRs are not recommended for use in the Windows NetWare logon script processor.
The TSR the warning refers to is unloaded later in the script; therefore, McAfee BrightWorks is not affected by this TSR.
TSRs run in the Windows NetWare logon script processor are unloaded when
the NWLSCON window closes after the logon script processing, and are
therefore not global to Windows. This differs from the MS-DOS-level Novell
NetX and VLM NetWare clients, because TSRs loaded in logon scripts in real
mode are present in memory before entering protected mode, and are
therefore global to Windows. NWLSCON warns the user when this case occurs.
NWLSCON only detects when a TSR has been loaded; it does not detect when a
TSR has been unloaded in the same logon script.
