Unable to Use CD-ROM After You Upgrade to Windows 98ID: Q229261

After you upgrade to Windows 98, you may be unable to use your CD-ROM drive even though it may be displayed in My Computer and Windows Explorer.
This behavior can occur if you have the "Device=C:\Windows\System\VCDREMAP.VXD" line exists in the [386Enh] section of the System.ini file. This entry may exist if you are running the Twins95 CD-ROM drive re-mapping freeware program. This program is not totally compatible with Windows 98.
To work around this behavior, place a semi-colon character at the beginning of the "Device=C:\Windows\System\VCDREMAP.VXD" line in [386Enh] section of the System.ini file:
