Uuencoded Attachments Are Numbered Sequentially in MS ExchangeID: Q162351

When you send messages as attachments using the Internet Mail information
service in Microsoft Exchange (Windows Messaging), the messages are
numbered as Msg0001.txt, Msg0002.txt, Msg0003.txt, and so on.
When you compose a new message, the numbering sequence does not start
over, but instead continues with the next number.
When you send messages using Microsoft Exchange and you include multiple uuencoded attachments in a message, the counter is not reset and attachment numbers are incremented in all subsequent messages.
To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
The attachment count can be misleading when you receive a message with an attachment count not starting at one. This could lead you to believe you have not received all the attachments.
