Windows 98 Second Edition Hangs on Compaq Presario 1220 NotebookID: Q237756
|
When you upgrade to Windows 98 Second Edition on a Compaq Presario 1220 notebook, your computer may randomly stop responding (hang), especially when you are connected to the Internet.
This issue can occur because this notebook contains the Cyrix Media GX 200 megahertz (MHz) processor. This processor is not on the Windows 98 hardware compatibility list.
To resolve this issue, uninstall Windows 98 or use the Compaq Restore CD-ROM to restore the computer to the original configuration.
