Microsoft Windows 95
-
Microsoft Windows 98
SYMPTOMS
When you run the Add New Hardware wizard, the Zoom V.34I modem may be
detected as a standard modem, even though the modem is included in the
hardware list.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the Zoom V.34I modem included in the hardware
list is not a 28.8 modem and the actual installed modem is a 28.8 modem.
RESOLUTION
To install the modem correctly, you need to provide the manufacturer's
driver disk.
To install the modem using the manufacturer's driver disk, follow these
steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Modems icon.
- Click Add.
- Click the "Don't detect my modem; I will select it from a list" check
box to select it, and then click Next.
- Click Have Disk.
- In the Copy Manufacturer's File From box, type the path to the disk
containing the manufacturer's driver files, and then click OK.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
If you do not have the manufacturer's driver disk, please contact the
modem's manufacturer to obtain the appropriate drivers.
These drivers are available as a file named Muupg.exe from Zoom's Web site
at:
