RPC Locator Returns Duplicate or Missing Entries to RpcNsBindingLookup CallsID: Q235863
|
Finding a binding handle in an RPC program is accomplished through the RpcNsBindingLookup or RpcNsBindingImport function sets. If you use these function sets in a mixed Windows NT version 3.51 and 4.0 domain, you may observe duplicate or missing binding handles being returned by the call.
This problem occurs because the locator cache is not flushing dormant cache entries.
A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this
specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows NT 4.0 service pack
