Suppressing Math Coprocessor Use by a FORTRAN Application

To prevent a FORTRAN program linked with the emulator math library from using the math coprocessor, modify your environment to define the symbol NO87. Enter the following command at the operating system prompt:

   SET NO87=TRUE

When NO87 is defined to contain any string, no FORTRAN application will use the coprocessor. Instead, each application displays the "use of coprocessor suppressed" message.

To suppress coprocessor use for all FORTRAN applications under MS-DOS, edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT file to include the SET command. Under OS/2, edit your CONFIG.SYS file to include the SET command.
