INFO: Setup Fails If Domain Account Is Invalid

SUMMARY

Setup fails if the system cannot locate a valid domain account. You may receive one of the following error messages when trying to run the installation:

Installer not responding

Internal Error 2608, 1332

The LockPermission table can create secured objects for files, directories, or registry keys. If the domain controller is not available to return a unique identifier for each user listed, the setup fails. If you know the user name and domain are correct, common causes of failure are:

The domain controller is down.

Failures in the network.

The user has changed his or her password when logging back into the current computer.

In the case of network or computer failures, a significant delay may be incurred while the system waits for a response.

The LookupAccountName function attempts to find a security identifier for the specified name by first checking a list of well-known Security Identifiers (SIDs). If the name does not correspond to a well-known SID, the function checks built-in and administratively defined local accounts. Next, the function checks the primary domain. If the name is not found there, trusted domains are checked.
