When you try to make a DLC printer a failover resource in MSCS, a print job might hang in the spooler and cause other unexpected behaviors.
Microsoft Cluster Server only supports failover of the TCP/IP protocol because of its ability to flush the Mac address. The DLC protocol talks directly to the card in the printer and cannot be flushed during a failover.
Do not install the DLC protocol on a computer that needs to failover a printer that does not support the TCPIP protocol.
This behavior is by design.
