PRB: EndDialog May Hang in Emulation Environment

- Microsoft Windows CE version 2.0 for the Handheld PC

SYMPTOMS

Using either the Handheld PC 2.0 or Palm-Size PC emulation, the EndDialog API may hang. This problem may occur on systems that are slower than a Pentium 200 MHz processor.

CAUSE

The Office 97 shortcut bar is causing a deadlock to occur in the emulation environment.

RESOLUTION

Close the Office 97 shortcut bar (Msoffice.exe) before using emulation.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article.
