In Windows 95 a multifunction INF allocates a child device's resources using a ResourceMap entry such as:
HKR,Child0000,ResourceMap,1,XX
where XX is the parent device's resource ordinal. Under certain conditions,
the child device may be assigned an incorrect parental resource.
A bug in Windows 95 can cause a multifunction child device to receive the wrong parental resource.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. Windows 98 does not exhibit this problem.
