BUG: FORTRAN 5.1 Setup May Not Copy HIMEM.SYS or RAMDRIVE.SYS

ID: Q77327

5.10 | 5.10 MS-DOS | OS/2 kbsetup kbbuglist ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft FORTRAN for MS-DOS, version 5.1 - Microsoft FORTRAN for OS/2, version 5.1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== The Setup program that comes with Microsoft FORTRAN version 5.10 may not copy HIMEM.SYS, SMARTDRV.SYS or RAMDRIVE.SYS if a version of these devices is found in the directory path specified in the COMSPEC environment variable. However, the file NEW-CONF.SYS created by Setup still reflects these device drivers to be in the FORTRAN real mode executable directory (i.e. \FORTRAN\BINR) This problem was only duplicated when running Setup from the MS-DOS compatability box under OS/2. STATUS ====== Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FORTRAN version 5.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. This is not an issue with FORTRAN PowerStation.
