The information in this article applies to:
A small memory leak was found in Crash Recovery that occurred whenever a new NEWFILEID was received. This no longer leaks.
This problem can be resolved by the following updated file for the MIFST Translation Server:
OFX_CrashRecovery_COM.dll 7/8/98 5:35pm, 353,024 bytes
To install this update, follow these steps:
1. Download the Fstqfe2a.exe file as described below to an empty folder.
2. In My Computer or Windows Explorer, double-click the Fstqfe2a.exe file
you downloaded in step 1.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract the files.
4. Replace the existing OFX_CrashRecovery_COM.dll with this fixed version.
5. Register this new OFX_CrashRecovery_COM.dll using RegSvr32.
6. The Ofx_crashrecovery_com.dbg file is useful for debugging, and can be
placed in the directory where DLL debug symbols are stored.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Finance Server Toolkit (MIFST) versions 1.0 and 1.01. An update to address this problem is now available but is not fully regression tested and should be applied only to computers experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft does not recommend implementing this update at this time.
This fix was developed for MIFST 1.01. If you are experiencing the problem addressed in this fix on MIFST 1.0, you must install the MIFST 1.01 service pack before applying this fix.
