FIX: MIFST Web Client Development Kit Component Problems

SYMPTOMS

The following updated files for the MIFST Web Development Toolkit fix two problems with components of the MIFST Web Client Development Toolkit:

Stack overflow for large response files. Processing very large responses (the exact size varies) from an OFX server may cause a stack overflow to occur, potentially crashing the Web server hosting the Web Client Development Toolkit. The size of a response that is needed to cause this may be much smaller when the Web server is IIS 4.0, as compared with IIS 3.0.
Transfer and payment lists may not return complete lists. List transactions (TransferList, PayeeList, PaymentList, and so forth) request lists for all accounts of a given customer with a single OFX request. If one of the accounts has no entries for the list, entries for the remaining accounts will not be added to the list.

RESOLUTION

These problems can be resolved by the following updated files for the MIFST Web Development Toolkit:

   MIFST_OFXDataAccess.dll  v. 1.0.216, 6/1/98 4:21pm, 489,472 bytes
   MIFST_OFX_ParseBuild.dll  v. 1.0.216, 5/21/98 1:54pm, 264,704 bytes

To install this update, follow these steps:

1. Download the Fstqfe1.exe file as described below to an empty folder.

2. In My Computer or Windows Explorer, double-click the Fstqfe1.exe file

   you downloaded in step 1.

3. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract the files.

4. Replace the existing MIFST_OFXDataAccess.dll and

   MIFST_OFX_ParseBuild.dll with these fixed versions.

5. Register the new DLLs using RegSvr32.

The following file is available for download from the Microsoft Software Library:

 ~ Fstqfe1.exe (size: 315207 bytes)

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Finance Server Toolkit versions 1.0 and 1.01. An update to address this problem is now available, but is not fully regression tested and should be applied only to computers experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft does not recommend implementing this update at this time.

This fix was developed for MIFST 1.01. If you are experiencing the problem addressed in this fix on MIFST 1.0, you must install the MIFST 1.01 service pack before applying this fix.
