DOC: Permission Settings Incorrect for Security Server

SUMMARY

The OFXPing Diagnostic Tool returns the following HTTP Response:

500 Server error.
In the "Getting Started" documentation version 1.01 1998 in section 2.9.5 for the Microsoft Internet Finance Server Toolkit (MIFST) the documentation is incorrect for the permission setting on the registry key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Perflib 
The documentation erroneously states that the OFX_IIS_USER should have full control to the registry key.

  1. Start the Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).


  2. Locate Perflib under the following key in the registry:
    
          HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ 
       


  3. On the Security menu, click Permissions. Select the Replace Permissions on Subkey option, and click Add. Select the Security server's IIS_Machinename with Full control and then click OK.


  4. Close the Registry Editor.


  5. Reboot the Security Server.


The Security server must have consistentcy between the IIS anonymous user and the permissions given to the registry keys.
