SUMMARY

When the Extended (32-bit) or Standard (16-bit) version of FoxPro 2.6 for MS-DOS is running on a Midwest Micro Soundbook laptop computer, FoxPro suffers from various display problems.

MORE INFORMATION

The video problems most often appear after movement of the mouse cursor. These problems include the appearance of "ghost" images and random characters on the desktop and within the system menu.

Midwest Micro Systems has confirmed this to be a known problem with the BIOS supplied with the Midwest Micro Soundbook laptop machines. The BIOS version is SystemSoft BIOS for 80486/82C286 version 1.00 (2208).

According to Midwest Micro Systems, there is currently no patch available to correct this problem. However, Midwest Technical Support claims that running FoxPro within an MS-DOS session under Windows prevents the video anomalies from occurring. For the most current information on any BIOS upgrades or patches, call Midwest Micro product support at (800) 572-8844.

The Midwest Micro Soundbook laptop computer is manufactured by a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability.
