The information in this article applies to:
A general protection (GP) fault is the result if while using a table as SHARED on a CD-ROM device, you edit data in a Browse window and then try to save that data by pressing CTRL+W.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
1. Open a table on a CD-ROM as shared.
2. Browse the table.
3. Enter data, or change the data in the Browse window.
4. Press CTRL+W.
After the error dialog appears, a GP fault occurs.
