The information in this article applies to:
If a file other than an .SCX file is put into the Screen entry portion or into the Database entry portion of FoxApp (the FoxPro Application Generator), error messages will be displayed when you attempt to generate the application, preventing further execution of FoxApp.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
1. Run FOXAPP.APP.
2. For the Database name, type "\TUTORIAL\CUSTOMER.DBF" (without the
quotation marks).
3. In the "Step 2 - Create or Modify a Screen" entry box, select From File.
4. Select the All Files check box.
6. Select \TUTORIAL\CUSTOMER.SPR (or any filename other than one with an
.SCX extension) and choose OK.
7. Generate the application.
FOXAPP.APP correctly errors out of the performance of creating the new application. The preferred effect, however, would be to bring an error message up when the incorrect file is selected and allow the user to modify the entry.
