The information in this article applies to:
FoxDoc displays one of the following error messages in a WAIT WINDOW:
API Library not found.
-or-
File 'FOXDOC.PRG' does not exist.
Variable 'FD_PRTOPTS' not found
There is insufficient memory to run FoxDoc. FoxPro needs approximately 3500K of available memory to run FoxDoc.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
1. Reduce the memory available to FoxPro to less than 3500K. To do this,
start other Macintosh programs, use the Memory Control Panel to turn
off Virtual Memory, or create a RAM disk.
NOTE: Choose About This Macintosh from the Apple menu to check how much
memory is available (Largest Unused Block).
2. When less than 3500K of memory is available, start FoxPro.
3. In the Command window, type "MODIFY COMMAND test" (without the
quotation marks).
4. In the TEST.PRG editing window, type the following:
WAIT WINDOW 'In test'
5. Close the editing window, and save changes.
6. From the Program menu, choose FoxDoc.
7. Choose the Main File button. In the resulting dialog box, select
TEST.PRG. Then choose Open.
8. Choose the Data Folder button. In the resulting dialog box, choose
Select.
9. Choose the Output Folder button. In the resulting dialog box, choose
Select. Then choose the Generate button.
At this point, you should see one of the following errors in the WAIT
WINDOW:
API Library not found.
-or-
File 'FOXDOC.PRG' does not exist.
Then you'll see the "Variable 'FD_PRTOPTS' not found" error message.
