When printing a report using the Hewlett Packard (HP) II, III or IV printer driver, a horizontal line placed behind an opaque field will print through opaque fields instead of hiding behind them.
Try using a printer other than a Hewlett Packard LaserJet. However, note that this problem has not been tested on all printers.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
1. Issue the following commands to create a report named Test for the
Customer sample database:
USE C:\FPW26\TUTORIAL\CUSTOMER.DBF
CREATE REPORT Test
2. Place the CNO and COMPANY fields in the Detail band.
3. Take the Line Tool and draw a line through both fields in the Detail
band.
4. Go to the Object menu, and choose Send To Back to position the line
behind the report expressions.
5. Select both the CNO and COMPANY fields on the Detail band.
6. Go to the Object menu and choose Mode Opaque.
7. Save the Report.
8. Go to the File menu, and choose Printer Setup. Make sure you are
using an HP LaserJet Printer Driver.
9. From the Command window issue a REPORT FORM Test NEXT 1 TO PRINTER.
