BUG: Mail Merge Wizard Not Working with dBASE .QBE Files

SYMPTOMS

The Mail Merge command on the Tools menu remains enabled when a .QBE file is in use. However, when you try to perform a mail merge while a .QBE file is in use, nothing happens.

CAUSE

The Mail Merge Wizard does not work with dBASE .QBE queries. The Mail Merge command on the Tools menu should be disabled when a .QBE file is in use.

RESOLUTION

To work around this limitation, you can convert the dBASE .QBE file to an .FPQ file, which can be used to perform the mail merge.

1. From the File menu, choose Catalog Manager.

2. Select the Query tab.

3. Select the .QBE file from the box, or add a new .QBE file to the

   catalog.

4. Choose the Modify button.

5. Choose the Finish button.

6. Choose the Finish button again.

7. Choose the Save button, or type a new name for the .FPQ file and then

   choose the Save button.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro version 2.6 for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
