The information in this article applies to:
In reports with several data groupings, if a group spills over to the next page, the Detail band of the first record will be ignored. The group information of the second record will print instead, followed by the second record's Detail band.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
For any record other than the first, the NEXT 1 clause works correctly. This problem will also not appear if you are using the Page Preview command on the Report menu.
1. Open FoxPro and create a report.
2. Create at least two data groupings for the report, with headers large
enough to overflow to the next page.
3. Save and close the report.
4. In the Command window, type the following commands:
GO TOP & This malfunctions only on the first record.
REPORT FORM <yourname> NEXT 1 PREVIEW
The first record's grouping will appear, followed by the second record's
grouping, followed by the second record's Detail band. This error will not
appear if NEXT 1 is removed. It also will not occur if you are previewing
the page in the Report Writer.
