The information in this article applies to:
The SET STATUS TIMEOUT TO command does not work as documented on page L3-996 in the "Language Reference" manual. If the command SET STATUS TIMEOUT TO 10 is issued, FoxPro is supposed to display a message in the Windows-style status bar for 10 seconds. However, the message is displayed indefinitely until another SET MESSAGE TO command is issued.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro versions 2.5 and 2.5a for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
1. In the Command window, issue the command SET STATUS TIMEOUT TO 10.
2. In the Command window, issue the command SET MESSAGE TO 'This is a
test'.
This message is displayed until another SET MESSAGE TO command is
issued.
