In the FoxPro for MS-DOS Catalog Manager, a syntax error occurs when you move off the Index Expression GET field.
To modify an index, quit the Catalog Manager, and choose Setup from the Database menu.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.6 for MS-DOS. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
1. Launch the Extended (32-bit) version of FoxPro for MS-DOS (FOXPROX.EXE).
2. Open the Catalog Manager.
3. USE a database file with a corresponding .CDX index file.
4. From the Data menu, choose Add/Modify Indexes.
5. Choose Modify.
6. Choose Expression and then choose Add.
7. Select the Expression GET so that the cursor is blinking.
8. Choose the Expression button.
The following error message will appear:
Error 10 (Syntax Error) occurred in VEXPR. Catalog Manager will restart.
