When you are running FoxPro for MS-DOS in an MS-DOS session within Microsoft Windows, pressing ALT+ENTER to switch to full-screen mode causes the System menu pad to be selected.
This behavior occurs because Windows captures the ALT+ENTER key combination and passes the ALT key to FoxPro. FoxPro therefore behaves as though the ALT key was pressed and activates the System menu pad.
You can prevent the ALT+ENTER key combination from activating the System menu pad by using PIF Editor to edit the program information file for the MS-DOS session (the default PIF file is DOSPRMT.PIF) and selecting the Alt+Enter check box under Reserve Shortcut Keys. (To access this option, choose the Advanced button in PIF Editor.) This prevents Windows from intercepting the ALT+ENTER key combination. If this option is selected, however, you cannot switch between the windowed and full-screen modes. It is possible to specify the initial state of an MS-DOS session by selecting the Full Screen or Windowed option in PIF Editor.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro versions 2.0, 2.5, 2.5a, 2.5b, and 2.6 for MS-DOS. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
