The information in this article applies to:
When you run a report several times, the error message "Insufficient Memory" is returned from Windows.
This error occurs because the Report Writer uses resources from the graphical device interface (GDI) pool of the Windows operating environment and does not return these resources back to the GDI pool in Windows.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.5 for Windows. This problem was corrected in FoxPro 2.5a for Windows.
1. From the Help menu in the Program Manager, choose About Program Manager
and note the percentage of available system resources.
2. Create a quick report in FoxPro for Windows using a small database.
3. Create and run the following program using the report created in step 1:
******************************
* A simple program to run *
* a report form in an event *
* loop. *
******************************
x = .T.
DO WHILE x
REPORT FORM <report name>
ENDDO
NOTE: When issuing the REPORT FORM command, send the report to the
screen (the problem will also occur when you are printing).
4. After the error message "Insufficient memory" is returned by Windows,
choose About Program Manager from the Help menu in the Program Manager
and compare the current percentage of available system resources to the
previous amount.
