ID: Q123019

2.60a MACINTOSH

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

The following error message is received after the FoxPro for Macintosh Distribution Kit's SetupWizard reports that it has created the disk images:

Error 1: File Does not exist.
          at line 56 in CLEANUP.
          SetupWizard Canceled

However, the disk images have been created successfully.

CAUSE

This error message is caused if no help system is installed for FoxPro. Line 56 in CLEANUP of the SetupWizard is the SET HELP TO command. FoxPro displays the "File does not exist" error message if SET HELP TO is typed in the Command window and no help for FoxPro is installed on the Macintosh. The SetupWizard has an ON ERROR procedure that causes it to display a more meaningful message when the error is encountered.

RESOLUTION

Install FoxPro for Macintosh's Help files by using the installation disks if you want to prevent the error message.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Visual FoxPro 3.0b for Macintosh.
