NOTE: For more detailed information on the startup switches mentioned in the following steps, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

1. Start FoxPro with these startup switches:

    - Use the -i switch to treat the console as a terminal.
    - Use the -o switch to bypass FoxPro writing to video memory.

If either of the switches improve the console's display, you can set the
FOXPROSWX environment variable to hold this startup switch value. For
information on how to do this, please see the following article in the
   Microsoft Knowledge Base:

TITLE : How to Suppress the FoxPro for UNIX Startup Screen

When using the -o switch, the FoxPro display may be less than optimal.
To make the display more graphically pleasing, set the FOXTERM
environment variable to a value of ansifox. For more information on
setting FOXTERM, please see the following article in the
   Microsoft Knowledge Base:

2. Use the -o switch or upgrade to a color VGA card if your Monochrome VGA
card selects the same foreground and background colors.

3. Check sysadmsh or vi to see what the display looks like.
