Sometimes it is useful to programmatically derive the name of a child database that is related to the current (parent) database. The program below demonstrates how to do this.
The following program demonstrates how to use the SET() function to determine the name of the child database:
SELECT 1
USE customer IN 1 ORDER cno
USE invoices IN 2 ORDER cno
SET RELATION TO cno INTO invoices
* The following line will place the alias "INVOICES"
* in the memory variable m.child.
m.child=RIGHT(SET("RELATION"),LEN(SET("RELATION"))- ;
RAT(" ",SET("RELATION")))
NOTE: Instead of SET(), you could use the TARGET() function, which returns
the alias name of the nth child database related to a specified alias.
