In FoxPro 2.6, the following dialog box will appear when FoxPro is opening a dBASE table:

This can later be reversed with
COPY ... TYPE FOXPLUS
<Yes> <No>
If you choose No, FoxPro will not open the database and the following error
message will occur:
Not a table/DBF.
If you choose the Yes button, the following dialog box will appear:
Remove dBASE 'soft' carriage returns from MEMOS?
Choose Yes if all memos are normal text
Choose No if any memos have binary data
<Yes> <No>
If you choose Yes, FoxPro will remove all soft carriage returns from all
memo fields.
If you choose No, FoxPro will not remove any soft carriage returns.
When you are editing a memo field in dBASE, the autowrap feature of dBASE automatically inserts a soft carriage return when the line wraps. This soft carriage return has an ASCII value of 141.
