Location of Screen and Command Windows Attributes

SUMMARY

Information about the screen (the main FoxPro window) and the Command window attributes is saved in different locations.

Information about the screen (main FoxPro window) is saved in the FOXPRO.INI file. If the screen font is changed in a FoxPro session, it will be modified in the FOXPRO.INI file when quitting FoxPro.

The Command window font is saved in the active resource file. To view the font saved in the file, the resource file must be active when you access FoxPro. If a different resource file is activated during a FoxPro session, the font will not change. For example:

   * The active resource file is C:\\FOXUSER.DBF.
   SET RESOURCE TO C:\FOXPROW\FOXUSER.DBF
   * The font in the Command window will not change even
   * though this resource file contains different font information.

MORE INFORMATION

To prevent changing the font permanently in the Command window, modify the READONLY field in the resource file.

To modify the file:

1. Issue the following commands:

      SET RESOURCE OFF
      USE <resource file>
      BROWSE FOR type="PREFW"

2. Position the record pointer to the record that has a WINDCMD ID.

3. Change the .F. value in the READONLY field to .T.

4. Close the .DBF file.

5. Issue the following command:

      SET RESOURCE ON
