PRB: "Cannot Find DDEML.DLL" Error Occurs Starting FoxProID: Q95661
|
The error message "Cannot find DDEML.DLL" is displayed after you start up FoxPro for Windows.
The DDEML.DLL file has to be in the Windows SYSTEM subdirectory (WINDOWS\SYSTEM) before FoxPro for Windows can start. During the FoxPro for Windows installation process, this file is placed in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory. If this file gets deleted or corrupted, it must be replaced.
The file DDEML.DLL must be expanded from the FoxPro setup disks to the
WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory. If another installation of Windows is
also on the computer, make sure the DDEML.DLL file has also been added
to that installation of Windows. FoxPro cannot run until this file is
put in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory.
If Windows was deleted and reinstalled, the DDEML.DLL file will not be
in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory unless FoxPro for Windows is
reinstalled after the Windows installation or the file is expanded
from the FoxPro for Windows disks.
