ACC2: Installing MS Access with NT Creates New Program GroupID: Q117169
|
Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.
When you install Microsoft Access version 2.0 on a computer running
Microsoft Windows NT version 3.1, and you choose to install the Microsoft
Access icons in an existing common group such as Applications (Common),
Microsoft Access Setup creates a new group called Applications
(Common)(Common) and places the Microsoft Access icons in this group
instead of in the group you chose.
This behavior is caused by a problem in Microsoft Windows NT version 3.1.
After Microsoft Access Setup finishes, move the Microsoft Access icons to the correct group and delete the new group.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows NT version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
