In Microsoft Access running under Windows 95, if you press the F1 key from any Module window while the mouse pointer is positioned in white space (not on any text), you receive the following error message:
An Error Exists in the Help File. Contact your Application Vendor for
an Updated Help File. (1053)
Once this error has occurred, you cannot use the Search option on the Help
menu until you start Help from another object in Microsoft Access or you
click Contents on the Help menu.
To reset the Help menu's Search option, use one of the following methods:

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base it becomes available.
1. From any Module window in Microsoft Access, with the mouse pointer
