The information in this article applies to:
The SAVE SCREEN command stores a screen image in a .MEM file. If you execute this command in FoxPro for MS-DOS and issue the RESTORE FROM command in FoxPro for Windows, the image does not display properly.
FoxPro has no way of translating the MS-DOS character-based screen image into a bitmap image for Windows.
This behavior is by design.
In FoxPro for MS-DOS, type the following commands in the Command window:
@10,10 say "HELLO"
SAVE SCREEN TO scrn
SAVE ALL LIKE scrn TO scrnfile
Quit FoxPro for MS-DOS and load FoxPro for Windows. Type the following
commands in the Command window:
RESTORE FROM scrnfile
RESTORE screen FROM scrn
The image appears as a small colored rectangle in the upper-left corner of
the screen.
Screen image files must be created and saved in the same FoxPro platform as the platform on which they will be displayed.
