The information in this article applies to:
When a SET ORDER TO <index field> statement is issued, the record pointer defaults neither to the first record in the index nor to the top of the file.
To sequentially step through an indexed database after issuing a SET ORDER TO command, use the GO TOP statement before executing the command.
1. BROWSE an indexed database, then specify an index.
2. Highlight the fifth record in the database and exit BROWSE.
3. From the Command window, issue the SET ORDER TO <index field> command.
4. BROWSE the database again.
At this point, the record selected in step 2 above remains highlighted.
The record pointer is not reset to reflect the index.
