Both the Microsoft Access version 2.0 "Language Reference" manual and the
online Help system state the following:
Microsoft Access version 2.0 supports the User function for backward compatibility. However, it is recommended that you use the CurrentUser function.
The User() function is not supported in Microsoft Access version 2.0. If
you compile a module containing the User() function, you will receive the
following error message:

For more information about the CurrentUser() function, search for
"CurrentUser," and then "CurrentUser Function" using the Microsoft Access
Help menu.
